The Unveiling: Sarah Tuck in conversation with artist Clodagh Emoe and residents from Memorial Court, Joyce Yourelle, Maire Sinnot, John Connolly and Paddy Morton. The residents discuss their experience of participating in the collaborative Per Cent for Art project Creating the Common that culminated in the theatrical parody of the failed unveiling of a monumental sculpture. The residents discuss their involvement throughout the project to the final staging the event. This informal conversation gives an insight into the scale of the project, the many individuals involved including script writers, Colin Carters and Sean Moffatt, photographers, Sean Breithaupt and Yvette Monahan, architects, abgc design to name but a few. The residents discuss the filmic aspect of the project produced by Thomas Mc Graw Lewis that was screened at IMMA. This conversation provides not just an overview of the project, but, more importantly the relevancy of projects of a participatory nature from the viewpoint of the participants. The Unveiling took place June 19th 2010. A screening of the film in conjunction with the education dept. took place in IMMA November 19th 2010.
